This course helps executives better understand and appreciate sensitivities associated with their actions and communications, including implications associated with the Sarbanes Oxley Act. They learn practices that can significantly reduce risks and negative press, as well as civil and criminal liability,

Key Highlights

This course consist of four Modules:

  • Module 1: Overview of the Legal ProcessWe begin each of our courses with an overview of the legal process as it pertains to the subject matter we will be addressing. We help attendees understand how the legal process works. How their conduct and communications, both internally and externally, can expose them to civil and criminal liability.
  • Module 2: Antitrust ImplicationsWe will go through various types of conduct that can expose participants to the three major Antitrust laws, i.e., The Sherman Act, the Clayton Act and the Federal Trade Commission Act. As part of this learning exercise, we will engage in interactive learning activities designed to ensure that participates can identify conduct that can expose them and the company to liability under each of the three acts.
  • Module 3: EthicsThis module helps employees understand and appreciate sensitivities associated with their actions and communications, including implications associated with the Sarbanes Oxley Act. We stress the importance of always taking the “high road” and treating everyone regardless of title and status with dignity and respect.We will use your company’s Ethics Policy as the foundation for this training. As part of this module we will discuss “Conspiracy Theories” as well as ramifications of the Sarbanes Oxley Act on corporate conduct and communications. We will also address how seemingly innocent and trivial conduct can expose the company and employee to liability and place them in a negative light. Most importantly, participants learn practices that can significantly reduce risks and negative press, as well as, civil and criminal liability.
  • Module 4: Case StudyThis training will conclude with a case study that addresses issues specific to this group. The case study will cover major learning objectives to test participants’ grasp of the information presented.Upon completion of the training, your personnel will have a full appreciation of the legal process and a heightened awareness of how they can reduce risks and liability through their conduct and communications.
